Julie and the team at Lettings Direct were thrilled to be announced as finalists in the Herald Property Awards for Scotland as Residential Letting Team of the Year.
The Herald Property Awards for Scotland honour the achievements of Scotland’s most innovative and successful house builders, developers and landlords and to be listed in the company of the best that our country has to offer in the property market is an incredible achievement for our young company. It was champagne all round when that phone call came in!
The category for Residential Letting Team of the Year was supported by Safe Deposit Scotland and recognises that an active private sector letting market is now a key feature of the Scottish property market. A good lettings team will assist a landlord in achieving lettings and manage the tenancy to bring a successful outcome for all parties.
Here’s what the judges said!
“The category will reward an outstanding letting team in the residential market. Judges will be looking for evidence of how the team has distinguished itself from the competition and how their efforts have contributed to the delivery of a high quality, cost effective service to landlords and tenants alike. Innovation and commitment to the industry are also important.”
We think that sounds like us! And we’re feeling very proud that we impressed the judges with our approach to the lettings market.
For us, a Letting Agent should offer great service to all of its clients and we view our stringent list of checks and balances as a duty to both landlords and tenants. By ensuring tenants only ever go into properties that they can afford we provide stability and security for all concerned. Our reference checks are always thorough and include bank statements, employer references and a current or previous landlord where relevant.
In order to ensure our hard-work placing the right tenant into the right home, never goes to waste, Lettings Direct has a permanent maintenance team who carry out various jobs throughout our clients’ properties. The decision to bring this in-house was a result of increasingly high costs from tradesmen and a growing lack of urgency in attending to small jobs. We have successfully saved landlords money, ensured a quicker turnaround in maintenance issues for tenants and provided high standards and reliability at all times – something that pleases everyone! This consistently high level of care has resulted in increased demand across our clients’ portfolios, all the while bringing down their costs.
